Full course contents:-

Module 1 : An introduction to hypnosis. Inductions and deepeners. The state and non-state theories. Practical sessions. Depth of trance. Time distortion. The history of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Recognition and importance of personality types; the Warriors, Settlers and Nomads model. Demonstrations and practical sessions. Homework assignment.

Module 2 : Hypnotherapy;- which conditions respond best. The subconscious mind and the mind-body link. Steve Peters’ “Chimp” model. Self-sabotage. Suggestion therapy - direct and indirect. Ericksonian language patterns. Working with analytical and resistant clients. The ‘Analytical Imp’. How to write scripts for confidence and self-esteem. Self-hypnosis. Practical sessions. Homework assignment.

 

Module 3 : The brain and the mind-body link from a scientific perspective, and their relevance to hypnotherapy. How memories are laid down. Understanding stress (all presented by Dr Steven Lowe). Stress management. Practical sessions. Homework assignment.

Module 4 : Meeting the client. Rapport. Goal setting. Listening skills. Clean language. Taking notes. Transference. Who not to treat - psychosis and neurosis. Analytical therapy part 1 - Regression to cause. How to handle abreaction. Inner child work. Practical sessions. Homework assignment.

Module 5 : Analytical therapy part 2 - Free association and the tv/video technique. Ideo-motor signals. Gold Counselling. The work of Milton Erickson. Metaphor and reverse metaphor. Practical sessions. Homework assignment.

Module 6 : NLP theory. NLP techniques;- reframing, anchoring, swish, rewind technique (Fast Phobia Cure), the NLP “secret technique”, future pacing. Practical sessions. Homework assignment.

Module 7 : Secondary gains. Parts Integration Therapy. A brief look at various other approaches, including BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), Meridian therapies (EFT, TFT etc.), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and SymbioDynamics and its uses as a therapy and coaching model. The “Three Principles” of Mind, Consciousness and Thought. Practical sessions. Homework assignment.

Module 8 : Application of techniques learned so far – dealing with anxiety, habits etc. Case studies. Mind coaching in sport, business etc. including the power of body language / posture, neutral thinking, accessing the “zone” etc. Final exam (done as a homework assignment)

Module 9 : Specialist areas :- Smoking cessation and weight management masterclasses- various theories and approaches. Past life regression (presented by Louise Page). Practical exam.

Module 10 : Pain management. Setting up your practice; how to organise a therapy session / course of treatment. How much to charge, supervision and CPD. Legal and ethical considerations. National Occupational Standards. Marketing your practice and attracting clients.

Robert McKinnon
is a clinical hypnotherapist with more than 15 years experience. Robert's qualifications are:-

  • Practitioner and Trainer in SymbioDynamics (SymbioDynamica Ltd.,2010)

  • Brainworking Recursive Therapy (Essex Institute, 2013)



As well as working with general members of the public, Robert also coaches professional golfers and athletes up to and including World and Olympic standard. Robert's work has been featured in Cosmopolitan and Zest magazines and he has been a regular guest on BBC radio.



Steve Lowe is a former dentist and qualified hypnotherapist and will present a scientific perspective on hypnosis, the workings of the mind, the mind-body link and the stress response.

Louise Page is an experienced hypnotherapist and specialises in past life regression.




 

The course consists of one weekend per month for 10 months (a total of 120 hours of classroom time). The weekend sessions are a combination of theory, demonstrations and practical sessions. Full support via telephone and email is provided during the course and after you've qualified.

1. Our course is carefully designed in that we cover the basics first and then go into the more advanced aspects of hypnotherapy and NLP. Then we pull everything together so that you will know how to best structure your treatment programmes for maximum effect.

2. We also help you to understand how the mind works, and how it can (and very often does) work against us to cause unwanted feelings, emotions and habits. We keep you well informed of the latest developments in neuro-science, which will help to deepen your understanding further.

3. We study the work of some of the leading names in the field, both past and present, including:-

Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded a diploma enabling you to become a practitioner and to use the letters D.Hyp

You will also be able to join the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and also register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) which is recognised by the Department of Health.

The next course will commence in February 2018.

The cost of the course is £2000 made up of £100 deposit to secure your place, and two payments of £950, one before the course starts and the second at the halfway point of the course.

Our Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and Mind Coaching is one of the most advanced courses you will find in the country. This is because we cover the most up-to-date and effective techniques in the field of hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching, although we also include the more traditional approaches as well.

The Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and Mind Coaching offered by the Transformations School of Clinical Hypnosis has been Assessed and Validated at Practitioner Level by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK). Graduates from this course are eligible for professional registration with The General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC's Registering Agency)at full Practitioner status, together with the acquisition of the industry-based award - The General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP).

The course also meets the requirements of the British Institute of Hypnotherapy and NLP (NIH).
